| MS level basic sciences program in CAM | Dear friends and colleagues, I'm writing to announce a wonderful new program at the Georgetown University School of Medicine: the first-ever master's level basic sciences program in complementary and alternative medicine. I may have written some of you before, but now that brochures exist, it seems more real... It's a 3-4 semester program (full-time) and students in the Complementary and Alternative Medicine Program will receive an MS in Physiology. It is really an integrative curriculum meant to train basic science researchers. I hope to be teaching a course in herbs and dietary supplements; other courses will include Fundamentals in Biochemistry, Fundamentals in Physiology, Mind-Body Medicine and Physiology, Seminars in Physiology, Biophysics, and Integrative Medicine, Human Nutrition and Health, Medical Immunology and Microbiology, Graduate Pathophysiology, Experimental Design and Biostatistics, and Principles of Pharmacology for drugs, supplements, and herbal medicines. The program directors are Adam Myers, PhD, and Hakima Amri, PhD. More information is available at http:/camprogram.georgetown.edu and applications can be made online at www.georgetown.edu/grad/online . The phone number of the physiology department is (202) 687-7979. Please let potential students know about this program. Thank you!
